FAQs

  • Not at all! We just ask that you have a quiet place to sit for your session, and that you come with an open mind (and perhaps a box of tissues). The sessions are quite structured, so we will guide you right along.

  • This is a tricky one. Since each person in a room will experience a birth from completely different perspectives, we prefer to focus on one person at a time. We can, however, record your session so that you may revisit and/or share with your partner.

  • No. In fact, we like to be sure and specifically call out that we are not therapists and this is not therapy. That said, we do LOVE therapy and highly recommend this as a complementary tool for your toolkit.

  • Unfortunately, insurance does not cover Birth Story Processing, but we’ll keep fighting the good fight. If you need help justifying it, just think about how much you spend on a haircut or dinner (and if cost is a barrier for you, please do reach out!)

  • We have found that when a baby or child is present for these sessions, the storyteller has a much harder time remaining completely open and focused on their healing journey. With that, we are here to support you with rescheduling as needed.

  • Of course. Many folks experience a perspective shift with one session, however, it can certainly be helpful to repeat the process when exploring multiple facets of a birth. We recommend starting with one and adding additional as needed.
